Navy Reserves

University students, builders, mechanics, electricians and lawyers are just some of the people who put on a uniform in their spare time and become part-time officers and sailors; making up the Royal New Zealand Naval Reserve and the Royal New Zealand Naval Volunteer Reserve.

Reservists get paid for the time they spend as a member of the Naval Reserves. They enjoy the opportunity to work with the regular force at sea, ashore or overseas on peacekeeping missions. There are around 300 people in the Naval Reserves. Find out more about how you could get involved below.
